Front Door Fashion
UX Mentorship & Executive Assistant
During my time at FDF as an Executive Assistant, I underwent a UX/UI Mentorship from a senior-level Interaction Designer. Front Door Fashion offers personal styling virtually and in-person.
High-Level Timeline
During my time at FDF, I helped implement the company's first UX Practices as well as received mentorship in UX/UI Design. The goal was to improve the backend Admin website to help stylists style their customers faster as well as have a more intuitive software when onboarding future stylists.
My responsibilities included notetaking during user interviews and evaluating the data. I also sketched low-fi desktop wireframes, put together mid-fi wireframes in Balsamiq, and eventually designed Mockups in Figma.
Ideate
Affinity mapping & User Flows
One of my UX role's first tasks was to create a user flow displaying the process in which a stylist completed an order. Each data point I was able to break down into individual sticky notes on a FigJam which soon became an Affinity Map. Any ideas or notes added to the element were also added as sticky notes. From there, I began exploratory research of personal stylist apps, blogs, and admin pages at companies in general. Findings for visual ideas or functionalities were noted.

Gather
User Interviews
Gathering more data came straight from its future users: the stylists. While my mentor led interviews, I took as many notes as I could. In addition to learning more about the stylist's perspective, I also made mental notes of how the interview questions were phrased. Terms were simple and remained highly user-centric.

Create
Wireframing & Prototyping
I began by sketching low-fidelity wireframes for certain screens, like the Orders page, in my journal. Many of the ideas had several elements to keep in mind so it was helpful to begin making Element Lists.

Balsamiq
Ideas were discussed with my mentor and iterated on multiple times. The focus was to create various solutions in various ways. The designs that proved most effective were moved to Balsamiq to be made mid-fidelity.

Mockups
Eventually, after many changes and adjustments made to the designs, I was able to contribute to some high-fidelity wireframes in Figma.
